We all have a story about how we got to this point. Mine started in the Nederlands in a small village with two windmills and an abundance of wooden shoes. As a daughter of a tomato grower, I was raised to work hard and follow my dreams. Around the age of sixteen, I went to work in my first flower shop. I LOVED it and decided to pursue a career in this industry. Over the years, my floral design education earned me the title Dutch Master Florist - yes, there is such a thing! After working in different flower shops in the Nederlands, I had the opportunity to come to the United States and work for a flower shop in Beverly Hills in 1985. Moving to such a large city was a change for this small-town girl, but I embraced it. We had celebrity clientele, created fun designs and arrangements, and had a blast! After meeting my husband, we moved to Sacramento, where I still reside. I chose the Dutch word for flower (bloem) to honor my Dutch heritage and better describe our commitment to utilizing European techniques. For the last 22 years, I have built an elegant and creative flower shop, Bloem Decor, serving clientele from heads of state to major national corporations. Do I still stop and smell the roses? Absolutely! And I buy them as often as possible to share them with others. Do you offer timed deliveries?
For local every-day orders we typically cannot offer timed deliveries due to the routing of our Delivery Service Provider. We will do our utmost to adhere to requested times for areas within a 5-mile radius.

How much does flower delivery cost in Sacramento?
Delivery fees vary depending on the location and distance. At checkout, you’ll see the exact cost for your area.
Can I order online or by phone?
Yes! You can order online anytime, through DoorDash, or by phone at (916) 447-2001 during our business hours (Mon-Fri 9:00 AM-5:00 PM).
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, any major credits, debit cards, tap-to-pay, and Venmo when purchasing in our studio. Afterpay now accepted at our online checkout.
Can I request certain flowers or colors?
Of course! You can let us know your preferred flowers or color palette. While some blooms may be seasonal or limited, our designers will do their best to recreate your vision. Always feel free to call or email to discuss in advance.
What happens if the recipient isn’t home?
If the recipient does not answer the door, our delivery driver will leave the flowers in a safe spot by the front door; weather permitting. If a delivery address is gated/we have no access to the door, we will reach out to the recipient to coordinate directly. If access information is not provided in a timely manner we may need to deliver the following day.
Do you deliver flowers to hospitals, offices, or event venues in Sacramento?
The short answer is yes, we deliver to homes, hospitals, businesses, and venues across Sacramento. Certain hospitals we are unable to deliver to including all Sutter locations due to their security protocol. Please provide the full address and any delivery notes, such as access/gate codes and phone numbers, during checkout. For event deliveries please call our shop directly to coordinate times.
How do I make my flowers last longer?
If you have an arrangement in a vase, add water to the existing container, as the flower food is already inside the water. If you have a hand-tied wrapped bouquet, cut the stems and use the attached flower food packet. Instructions will be included. Generally speaking, cool temperatures, clean water, and light without direct sunlight promotes longevity.
